Welcome to our First large Windfall Doll giveaway of 2013!
Four times a year we will be holding a seasonal giveaway of one of our larger Waldorf Inspired Dolls.
For our Winter Windfall Doll giveaway, we would like to introduce you to Kendall
::Kendall:: Meaning valley of the river.
::A bit about Kendall::
Kendall is our little celebratory girl. As our year One of Windfall Dolls came to a close we were inspired to begin year number two of giving away our dolls with a little lass full of happiness and celebration.
Emelia was consulted for her opinion on how to go about making a doll that represented this exciting time. The first thing she did was JUMP into our basket of yarn and pulled out the single skein of art yarn that we had.
She clapped her hands and giggled at the thought of a new friend with hair that shimmered.
And so began our venture in creating little miss Kendall.
As Kendall came to life over the weeks leading up to the New Year she was surrounded by the smells of baking for the Holidays. Cakes, cookies, a gingerbread house. With every new treat that was made, we added one new detail to our girl.
With every lick of the beaters, Kendall's smile grew bigger.
As the candles were lit to signify the beginning of a new year, Kendall's creation was complete and she lit her own candle in celebration of finding love in a new home.
:: The details::
Kendall is 17 inches tall and is made using our Standard Waldorf Inspired Pattern... out of interlock, stuffing and wool.
Her long hair is made with gorgeous thick thin blonde wool yarn scattered throughout with a fancy art yarn that has a light shimmer to it.
We pulled it back into a set of shiny perfect pigtails.
Her wardrobe is handmade as always.
Her dress is made using our dress pattern and we added a tiny pocket applique to hold a special treasure.
She has a chubby little tummy from eating all of the holiday treats that she helped to make. Emelia was worried that she wouldn't be comfortable with a pair of elastic pants and ended up taking over in the pant construction.
She stitched her up a pair of drawstring pants so that her new friend can eat even more yummy goodies at her new home.
As for her footwear, Kendall was smitten with the booties that she saw on Emelia's little feet and begged for a pair as well. Only in a pretty shade of purple to match her highlights in her hair.
The shoe ties are even made with the same yarn as her pretty hair.
If you are interested in having Kendall join your family, please let us know what it is that you love about her and how you will make her a part of your family.
Also, please become a follower of this blog and leave a comment at the end of this post. The giveaway will be open for one week. We will randomly choose a winner on January 7th and we will contact the winner via email.
Be sure to leave your email address in your comment so that we can contact you!

It saddens us to mention this, but we just want to be clear. Please do not comment if you are planning on selling this doll. She is meant to go to a family who will appreciate her. It would break our hearts if she was given to someone with poor intentions.

Deleteoh she is just so beautiful, I would love to send her to our precious baby niece, Niamh (pronounced Neeve) who like Kendall was brought into the world this winter, much to the delight of her "big" sister Isla,(who was also a December baby!), who I know would take very great care of Kendall until her little sister is old enough to do so. I'm sure the three winter girls would bring a lot of joy to each other, no matter what the season :)

gcarisse@yahoo.com
Delightful!!! Can I play with her? I love her clothes; they are just perfect. She would make a great 'grandma doll' for a close friend of our family who has her grandchildren (and my children whom she has 'adopted' as grandchildren) over for the day or sleepovers frequently.

What isn't to love about her? But I love her hair. I know my almost 5 year old would adore her and have me knitting and crocheting clothes for her too. Both of our girls have 8" dolls that we made payments on a couple of years ago that they adore, but my middle girl has been asking for a larger doll since her last birthday. Thank you for this wonderful giveaway and all the beautiful dolls you have made and given away.

My favorite thing about Kendall is how she reminds of my daughter, Lucy. From the colors in her hair and clothes to the way it makes me feel just looking at her...a sweet, shy, fun little girl! We are about to have another baby and I know my girl would love to have a sweet baby doll all her own to care for while mama is caring for the baby. Thanks so much for the chance to win!

ReplyDeletenieveamor@care2.com
My daughter loves babies and I am sure would cherish this one as well if we were so blessed. I love that this doll has cotton candy colored hair and is so feminine! Thank you for the chance to care for her. She would be immensely loved. keke_d_83(at)hotmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteOops, I left my comment in the wrong place. I said that her beautiful eyes are as bright as my little girl's eyes, and that she would get to spend a lot of time with us in the kitchen - cooking, baking, and licking lots of spoons, as that's one of our favorite things to do. We also love her gentle face and her amazing hair!

ReplyDeleteMy own little lass is full of happiness and celebration and would simply adore having Kendall to love and share her joy! My girl rejects hard dollies as they're not comfortable to snuggle with in bed. She'd love to play and bake with Kendall and help her learn to read and write too. Long, blonde hair shimmering with purple is something we wish we had! My girl loves purple and has purple boots - it looks like they were made for each other :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your incredibly generous and amazing giveaways. Wishing you peace and love in 2013 xx

My favourite thing about her is that she licks the beater just like my daughter and I! As always, she is exquisite!

ReplyDeleteMy little blonde Miss two (nearly three) would love to have Kendall join her little family. She loves dolls and dressing them up and I would love to make Kendall more clothes if she joined our family. My little girl loves to lick the beaters too so i think that Kendall would be a perfect fit for our family and especially my little girl

DeleteKendall is just the sweetest thing you have such a talent for creating dolls with just the right spirit. I believe my granddaughter would love the opportunity to have Kendall to join their family. If Kendall came to live with Caroline she would get to have tea parties, help in the yard with daddy and make muffins with mommy. My granddaughter who has her own special needs would so benefit from having a special friend like Kendall. my email address is calmiayoung@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteWhen I imagine what is Kendall like, I think that she is like my 3 year old daughter, Julia, but braver. That's why I love everything about Kendall and she would have so much fun in our home. I imagine she is very independent, with lots of mysterious ideas in her head, she always has a new adventure planned, she likes going for long walks following her own footpaths and she always collects new treasures to her little pocket. So every time she is changing her clothes to go to bed, a handful of stones, sticks, berries and leaves is falling out of the little pocket. I think she will trade her treasures with Julia and they will both have loads of fun!
ReplyDeleteThe dolls you create are pure magic! I hope we will be able to take some of this magic home one day! adolce2000(at)gmail(dot)com
We would love for Kendall to come and join our family. I would love to design some crocheted dresses just for her. I would love to see the pretty colours that would go with her hair. Your dolls are fantastic and each is so magical in its own special way.

ReplyDeletemandiandjohn(at)sbcglobal(dot)net
She is beautiful! From her hair to her clothes to her round little tummy. She would fit right in to our family and my daughter's arms.
ReplyDeleteceldridge99 at yahoo
She is beautiful, so adorable and with spirit. I'm commenting because my mum was making one for my little girl (just turned 2) but sadly passed away from a blessedly short battle with cancer before she completed her. It was devastating as she was so proud that she had found a class and was tryng something so new for her little granddaughter. We never received the half finished doll so I was never able to complete what mum started. I came across this blog and felt that may be its just fate that I've got this chance to find a buddy for my daughter.
ReplyDeleteaimee (dot) ej (at) gmail (dot) com
Also mentioned on my blog as I think what you do is amazing and generous and inspiring xx
ReplyDeleteLove the hair and her holiday spirit. She would be loved dearly by the 4 year old in my house and I would love to make her some more outfits. However, in reading the comment two above by Aimee - I would say that if I was fortunate to win, send her on to comfort that little girl and mother.
ReplyDeleteShe is very pretty and wintery!!! Love her!

I love that Kendall radiates the love and kindness that was put into making her. She is beautiful! Our five year old son would love to be her Papa. He has high anxiety and in these moments, it helps him greatly to help and nurture others. I am certain that caring for Kendall would soothe his soul. Thank you for the lovely giveaway.
ReplyDeletekristinlmbrt@yahoo.com
This doll for me is special since it reminds me of my first doll. I was and have been in love with cloth dolls ever since I can remember. This one gives a special peace feeling and I think it is because of the colors you chose for her. You can tell by your posts and by the way she has been made a lot of care has gone into making her and also looking for a home for her. I appreciate that even more since it is horrifically hard for me to part with things that mean something to me. If not mine I still hope she goes to a home where she will be preserved and cherished for a very long time.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to all

The clothes are just so beautiful. I am in the process of learning how to make a doll for my little girls. I had no idea that the process was so extensive, I will not give up and what I keep telling myself is one step at a time even if it takes me longer than I think. Thank you for making such a beautiful little doll for a a very lucky child or two. ;-)
