::Windfall Doll Giveaway:: Meet Jules

Welcome to our fourth large Windfall Doll giveaway!

Four times a year we will be holding a seasonal giveaway of one of our larger Waldorf Inspired Dolls.  Each monthly doll's name will be inspired by the month in which they were created.
::::

For our Summer Windfall Doll giveaway, we would like to introduce you to baby Jules

::Jules:: Meaning youthful.

::A bit about Jules::

Jules is my little love.  She began as the dream of Emelia's but soon stole my own heart.  You can learn more about her beginnings here

I gave her the name Jules because she is just that...youthful.  She is a baby all of 10 months old and is 16 inches long.  She loves to be snuggled and take naps.  Just like me!  (No wonder I love her so and named her after my nickname.)  I love to swaddle her up and rock her until she is close to slumber.  Then I place her in her crib and tiptoe out to get some work done.

But as we all know, naps with other little ones in the house can be fleeting.  My little nephew Hayden spotted a sleeping little Jules in HIS crib and he just had to rattle her awake.

To play!

And POP, those eyes did open!
Play time!

She unswaddled herself and sat up, ready to be plucked from her slumber to play with the other baby.

Apparently I took too long to get her out, because the next thing that I knew, she was climbing her way to freedom!

What a little monkey girl.

I saved her just in time, sat her on a blanket and gathered some toys for her to play with.  Borrowed from her little cousin.

She's new to sitting and almost as soon as I propped her up, she flopped back to kick her legs in the air and giggle.

:: The details::

Jules has the pinkest little smile that she wears all the time, she is a happy lark.  Her eyes are a bright green,  just like the leaves that have popped in the trees.

Her wardrobe is handmade as always.  Complete with a bonnet, crocheted slippers,  a shirt with a pocket, and her Emelia-insisted-on bloomers.

The bloomers are her favorite, she is constantly doing her head feet tripod pose ( like her cousin Hayden showed her ) trying to show them off!

Her slippers are sure to stay in place with a white yarn bow.

Her bonnet is made of linen and is lined with the same fabric as her bloomers.  The lace is upcycled from a pillowcase and the linen is from a thrifted napkin.

The last detail of little Jules trousseau is her toy.  A handmade birdie that Laura and I made long ago when we made mobiles for our times selling at the Farmer's Markets.  She has adopted it as her own and it will be making the journey with her to her new home.

If you are interested in having Jules join your family, please let us know what it is that you love about her and how you will make her a part of your family.

It saddens us to mention this, but we just want to be clear.  Please do not comment if you are planning on selling this doll.  She is meant to go to a family who will appreciate her.  It would break our hearts if she was given to someone with poor intentions.

::Windfall Dolls Sew Mama Sew Giveaway:: Meet Margot

If you have found us via Sew Mama Sew.... Welcome.
We are happy to have you here.
::::
Each month leading up to our regular Seasonal Large Waldorf Doll giveaway as promised...we will be sewing up a few smaller dolls for giving away.  This includes not only our Lillipals variety of dolls, but our Baby Dolls, our Swaddle babies, newborn babies, our Wee Ones, and any other small dolls that we come up with.

A bit of a tide-me-over for all of our readers.

Each monthly small doll's name will be inspired by the month in which they were created.
::::

As our Special Sew Mama Sew giveaway babe, we have the adorable Margot ...a Lillipal girl.
:::::::::::

::Margot :: French meaning pearl

Margot is our wild child.  She is bright and boisterous and colorful.  She lets her needs be known and she is in constant search for entertainment.
Her hair exemplifies her wild streak and is all over the place, quite literally.
It was long and flowing when I first stitched it into place, but she got a hold of some scissors out of my sewing room where she was sleeping and decided that it needed a trim.
Or a CHOP... as it were.
Little Miss Emelia (our resident fashionista) had a talk with me and begged asked me if she could help Margot get her hair in a bit more order for her photoshoot before she found her new family. After her own day of spa treatment, she was keen to share the experience with her little friend Margot.

A bit relieved, I told her that...of course she could.  The next day I helped Emelia make her a rosette hair band and watched as she tied it snuggly around Margot's head.  Margot was easily distracted with some little baby bunnies to play with.

She even took the shears and made a perfect little bob out of the chop job that Margot had given herself.

Margot is made using our Lillipals Pattern... out of interlock, stuffing and wool.
Her wardrobe is entirely handmade by us (and Emelia).
Her pants are made from an upcycled toddler's shirt sleeves and the sleeve hem details are left at the ankles.
Her dress is detailed with a pretty little birdie patch.
If you are interested in having Margot join your family, please become a follower of this blog, or like our shop on Etsy.  Leave a comment at the end of this post. The giveaway will be open for one week.  We will randomly choose a winner at night on May 28th and we will contact the winner via email.
Be sure to leave your email in your comment so that we can contact you!

A girl and her bow

Yesterday Emelia kissed her babies goodbye and sent them off into the big world to their new family.  She was a bit sad to see them go, and i tried to cheer her up with a bit of a spa day.

I gave her cheeks a bath, to wash away the tears that she had shed.  She has been asking me for a new hairstyle for a while now( she'd had it down straight for months ) and I thought that today was just the day to try something out.

I asked her what she wanted as the style.

" A BIG bow Mama!  Right up on top of my head, really high!"

Alrighty then, my girl.

I gave her free reign in my fabric yarn.

She (of course) picked out one that would coordinate with not only her hair, but her dress too.  (She's matchy-matchy like her Auntie that way.)

Out came the scissors and she trimmed it to a good length. Enough for a BIG bow.

 I tied it up nice and high, but she asked me nicely to re-do it.
" Even higher Mama!"

And so I did.  As high as I could get it.

And there we have it.  Our happy little girl and her BIG, BIG bow.

So sweet of your little one to help in the process. I am a follower from NY and a lover of all things handmade with love.
