First off, before you look further...these dolls has already been given away.
We wanted to introduce you to them because they are very special to us. They represent the season of giving. The joy that the holidays bring to the lives of little ones.
The hospital where we work has an adopt a family program every Christmas. Each floor of the hospital is assigned a family in need to give gifts to. This year our floor was assigned a family of 4 with a new baby due soon after the New year.
In addition to some fun teethers and a handmade pilot cap bonnet, I chose to make a few Wee Ones for their baby girl to be born.
Secondly is Sophie.
Sophie was originally meant to be our winter Windfall Dolls giveaway, but when we heard about the fundraiser for local children looking for donations to help bring in money, we changed our plans.
She is made using our regular doll tutorial.
She is 17 inches toll and her clothes were made using some fabric that we had been saving for a very special doll. In the loveliest shades of lavender she was inspired and slowly she came together.
A tiny pocket applique to hold a little friend.
Reversed hems to add a bit of contrast.
Our first drawstring pair of pants.
And those booties! We even made a tutorial for them for everyone to use!
Her hair is hand-spun and hand-dyed chunky yarn, mixed with little bits of blue and lavender worsted yarn.
The green eyes and tiny pink lips hint at the littlest bit of a secret happiness.
Her little friend ( a handpainted peg doll ) tucks quietly into her little pocket.
Here is a sneak peek at the newest doll in progress.
