::Windfall Doll Giveaway:: Meet Jules

Welcome to our fourth large Windfall Doll giveaway!

Four times a year we will be holding a seasonal giveaway of one of our larger Waldorf Inspired Dolls.  Each monthly doll's name will be inspired by the month in which they were created.
::::

For our Summer Windfall Doll giveaway, we would like to introduce you to baby Jules

::Jules:: Meaning youthful.

::A bit about Jules::

Jules is my little love.  She began as the dream of Emelia's but soon stole my own heart.  You can learn more about her beginnings here

I gave her the name Jules because she is just that...youthful.  She is a baby all of 10 months old and is 16 inches long.  She loves to be snuggled and take naps.  Just like me!  (No wonder I love her so and named her after my nickname.)  I love to swaddle her up and rock her until she is close to slumber.  Then I place her in her crib and tiptoe out to get some work done.

But as we all know, naps with other little ones in the house can be fleeting.  My little nephew Hayden spotted a sleeping little Jules in HIS crib and he just had to rattle her awake.

To play!

And POP, those eyes did open!
Play time!

She unswaddled herself and sat up, ready to be plucked from her slumber to play with the other baby.

Apparently I took too long to get her out, because the next thing that I knew, she was climbing her way to freedom!

What a little monkey girl.

I saved her just in time, sat her on a blanket and gathered some toys for her to play with.  Borrowed from her little cousin.

She's new to sitting and almost as soon as I propped her up, she flopped back to kick her legs in the air and giggle.

:: The details::

Jules has the pinkest little smile that she wears all the time, she is a happy lark.  Her eyes are a bright green,  just like the leaves that have popped in the trees.

Her wardrobe is handmade as always.  Complete with a bonnet, crocheted slippers,  a shirt with a pocket, and her Emelia-insisted-on bloomers.

The bloomers are her favorite, she is constantly doing her head feet tripod pose ( like her cousin Hayden showed her ) trying to show them off!

Her slippers are sure to stay in place with a white yarn bow.

Her bonnet is made of linen and is lined with the same fabric as her bloomers.  The lace is upcycled from a pillowcase and the linen is from a thrifted napkin.

The last detail of little Jules trousseau is her toy.  A handmade birdie that Laura and I made long ago when we made mobiles for our times selling at the Farmer's Markets.  She has adopted it as her own and it will be making the journey with her to her new home.

If you are interested in having Jules join your family, please let us know what it is that you love about her and how you will make her a part of your family.

Also, please become a follower of this blog and leave a comment at the end of this post. The giveaway will be open for one week.  We will randomly choose a winner on June 8th and we will contact the winner via email.

Be sure to leave your email address in your comment so that we can contact you!

It saddens us to mention this, but we just want to be clear.  Please do not comment if you are planning on selling this doll.  She is meant to go to a family who will appreciate her.  It would break our hearts if she was given to someone with poor intentions.

  3. cute! I follow your blog and I love her green eyes! My daughter has green eyes and we are having another daughter in sept 2012 - and I have been looking for a baby doll for our first daughter to have and take care of alongside me taking care of her baby sister!

  4. I am a June baby myself and I have green eyes. Plus I would love for her to sleep in my little girls bed and hear her dreams and comfort her when she has nightmares. I love the fact that she is a monkey and does headstands as this is so similar to my little blue eyed sweetie. She would be very loved if she came to live with us, although if she likes to stay clean maybe she should choose another family to live with as she will go camping with us and that is not a tidy activity!!

  5. My little girl would love to snuggle her. She's kind of a monkey herself so I think they'd get along just fine. I'm sure they'd have a great time together :)

  8. oh my! she is adorable. I love everything about her, but maybe especially her little blue booties. I have three girls under 6 yrs old, but to be honest, I think I might keep her for my very own baby to use when I play house with them. She's just too adorable and might help fix my baby cravings that are certain to come around since we're 'done' having real babies.

  13. Oh my gosh ~ She is just the most adorable little thing. It would be such a great little doll to have and give to my Granddaughter although she wouldn't be playing with it for awhile as she's about the same age as Jules. It would be so wonderful to have Jules since they were 'born' only a few months apart and something she could have when she is a bit older. I bet Jules would be super sweet and allow Alexia to play with, or at least look at the birdie also for now though. I know Alexia would love that.

    thank you so much for the chance

  17. My daughter, Cinderella (4) would take such good care of Jules. Cinderella helps me to change her little sister's (7 months) diapers all the time. She also baby wears her stuffed animals. Cinderella's birthday was May 18th and she would've loved a delicate and special little doll like Jules. It would be an honor to welcome Jules into our family. She would be cherished for years to come!

  19. I love those sparkling green eyes! I have made one Waldorf doll, but I might never reach your level of skill. My Waldorf doll is very lonely and Jules would be the perfect compainon for her! I can truly appreciate the love and hard work that goes into each and evey single one of your gorgeous dolls. I hope that soon Jules will come to my home to be welcomed by a cozy bed and warm hug. She would certainly be loved in our family. Also, could you tell Emelia that I agree with her entirely. Bloomers are essential.

      I love little Jules already! If our home is chosen for her I will take such good care of her. Each night I would tuck her into her bed and whisper in her ear: how much I love her; how glad I am that she is with me and that every day holds a new adventure. Thank you so much for the chance to win her! Also, in one of your earlier posts, you said that Emelia wanted a jumper for her baby. Does Jules have one? I would love to know.

  22. I found your website via ROTH. You make such beautiful dolls! My sweet 13 month daughter is starting to take an interest in dolls and I'm certain she would love being a mama to Jules. Also, my close friends and family call me Jules. How sweet would it be to hear my daughter talk with a baby doll named Jules? Thank you for the giveaway opportunity!

  23. Jules looks like a true snuggle bunny. My daughter won't go to bed until she has her snuggle time so Jules would be the perfect addition. My snuggler has longed for a sibling to help with and I think Jules would help her feel useful. We love your "babies". cmae124@gmail.com

  26. I am a Toddler Teacher and in August I will be meeting 12 little 2 year old friends who will be experiencing their first moments in a school setting. When I initially opened up this blog, Jules eyes twinkled and her lovely pink smile made my heat flutter - I feel it in my soul she belongs in my midst.

    For the past few months I have been feeling in my heart that I would like to have a little doll who will play, serve as an example on what it is means to be kind and gentle. As the toddlers learn about self-help skills I would show the children how to dress and undress Jules - role modeling talking and sharing stories with Jules. Jules would go on a lot of adventures with us and become a loved member of our little classroom community.

    Jules would fit nicely into what I envision for her. She would be with us as we gather for reading together, sharing meals and for helping me sprinkle "dream" dust on my new friends as they nap. I sure hope Jules comes to live with me and my new little friends. She will be well loved and cared for by many. Let the journey of Jules continue with me in Texas!!

  30. This little Jules is such a sweet sweet baby. My daughter, Duende, is turning 2 this month and doesn't really have a babydoll. i just don't think it is healthy to support the plastic or commercial industry (of subpar construction and interest) so we have yet to find or afford a baby that i think will be "the one". i think Jules would be a great fit - Duende is just becoming interested in trying to feed the stuffed animals she does have, and cuddling/swaddling them, changing their diapers - i see in her a nature to nurture. And Jules is such a lovely doll; i wish her happiness in any family!

    Thank you for the opportunity ~ Rachael, rachaelmajot@hotmail.com

  33. Nothing would make me happier than to get this doll for my wife. She is the one who is always thinking about the children. She always chooses the hand made toys of the best workmanship. I really appreciate the hard work and many hours put into hand made things. I am a craftsman myself and have made many good quality toys for our children so I can understand why hand made is the best way to go. Thank you for your consideration.
